Special features of our e-bikes and scooters
This is the mold of the base of the BatuBike and one of the laminated parts as it comes out of the mold once the epoxy has cured.
It is basically a sandwich of several 4 mm thick strips of different types wood with fiberglass in between each wood strip. In the wood strips of the middle we used very light pine wood and a wood called Caixeta (Tabebuia cassinoides) to keep the bike as light as possible and the outer layer is hardwood like Teak or African Mahogany or Ipé (Tabebuia spp., Bignoniaceae)
This type of manufacturing makes for extremely strong and resistant frame of the E Bike and as its treated for rot and totally covered in Epoxy, weather resistant and common in boatbuilding.
